Chelsea have reportedly launched a £55 million bid for Ligue 1 giants PSG playmaker Marco Verratti.
According to The Sun reports, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte views the 24-year-old playmaker as the creative spark he requires to push Chelsea to the next level for the upcoming 2017/18 season.
Italy international midfielder has already played under Conte with his country, and the Blues head-coach is believed that Verratti is the man who can help them to dominate in both European and domestic levels.
Ligue 1 giants, Paris Saint-Germain who lost out to Monaco in the race for the title on Wednesday evening, are reportedly considering a move for Italian midfielder.
Chelsea are also ready to lure Italian superstar by promising him huge pay rise on his current £120,000-a-week salary with the Ligue 1 giants.
When asked earlier this week if he will stay at PSG for another season, the Italy international said: “Yes.
‘I’m under contract in Paris and I like it here.’
Paris Saint-German No.6 has been also a top target for La Liga defending champions Barcelona, who are desperately seeking a replacement for 33-year-old midfielder Andreas Iniesta.
